Modern production conditions require the application of the concept of distributing production. This approach means coordinative production in a number of small and middle size companies. Multiplex products, consisting of a number of parts, components, and modules are assembled in one function unit in one company, but they may not be manufactured in one place. Huge factory and production complex, which existed in our country, comprised all phases of product lifecycle, from the development of a concept solution to the assembly. Technology of product manufacturing, resource logistics, quality control, product testing and verification of product function characteristics all represented activities performed by specified departments. Designing and technology documentation was created on the basis of information given by the above mentioned departments. Today companies are specialized in partial technology processes. Hundreds, sometimes thousands of collaborative processes depend on workers interactions and communication in the product assembly phase. With an intensive coordination, all the manufacturing phases of one product design and technology documentation are produced, in digital form, on CAx workstation. The Product Lifecycle Management can be achieved by using specialized software solutions. Some of the solutions for the Product Lifecycle Management offer integrated portfolio for engineering design and production of products and services, which enables companies to create their own digital e-business projects

According to the World Health Organization, the incidence of hearing impairment in newborn population is 1-3 per 1000 (WHO, 2012). Apart from that, many authors have found that the incidence of hearing impairment is twenty times higher, 2-4%, in neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Thus, a congenital hearing loss is the most frequent sensory or motor deficit that could be diagnosed immediately upon birth. The objective of this study was to determine the incidence of risk factors for hearing impairment in the population of preterm babies. We were especially interested in the impact of gestational age at birth on the incidence of risk factors for hearing loss. A cohort of 150 preterm babies was enrolled in the study. They were hospitalized in the Institute for Neonatology in Belgrade during 2014 and 2015 and the data were obtained from their medical files. The results of this study indicate high incidence of risk factors for hearing impairment in this population of babies. Gestational age at birth had a strong, statistically significant, correlation with risk factor incidence in lower gestational age and vice versa. High incidence of risk factors and their interaction could account for twenty times higher occurrence of congenital and early acquired hearing loss in population of preterm babies compared to term neonates. These results imply the need for systematic audiological surveillance of prematurely born babies at least until 12 months of corrected age. Gestaciona nedelja rođenja bebe pokazuje visoku, statistički značajnu korelaciju saučestaloŔću faktora rizika - Å”to je prematuritet raniji broj faktora rizika sepovećava, i obrnuto. Visoka učestalost i udruženost faktora rizika dovode do gotovo dvadeset puta veće incidencije urođenih i rano stečenih oÅ”tećenja sluha u populaciji prevremeno rođene dece. Ovakvi rezultati upućuju na neophodnost sistematskog audioloÅ”kog praćenja do navrÅ”enih godinu dana korigovanog uzrasta ove dece

TOWARD A SMART ECOSYSTEM WITH AUTOMATED SERVICES

New ICT architectures enable a better response to constant pressure on the industry and services to improve their business performance and productivity, especially in data processing. At the same time, due to the growing number of sensor modules, the amount of data that needs to be processed, in real time, is growing. Delays in communication with the cloud environment can lead to poor management decisions or user dissatisfaction. In automation and services, one of the new ICT architectures is Edge computing in the data processing. Edge computing is a networking architecture that brings computing close to the source of data in order to reduce latency and bandwidth use. Edge computing brings new power to data processing and the ability to process large amounts of data in real time. This is essential for predicting the behavior of machines, systems, or customers in order to detect errors or provide personalized service as in the case of smart vending machines. In that way, Edge computing enables taking steps toward establishing a smart ecosystem in automation and services

In the rubber industry, especially in the tire branch, inspection of shape and dimensions of freshly extruded rubber profiles which are components of a final product is an important problem. Accuracy of shape and dimensions of these profiles largely defines the quality of final product. Reviewed in this paper are existing solutions and inspection technologies which are in use for this type of problem. Proposed in this paper is a novel solution for the inspection of shape and dimensions which performs on a par with existing methods, while providing simplicity and cost effective design. The proposed solution employs a two-dimensional movement of a simple laser beam, which measures the distance rather than the laser plane whose reflected traces are analyzed as an image

Control of the work piece position is one of the most difficult and most common problems in manufacturing. This problem is in most cases solved by using an electric axis with a servo or step motor, servo pneumatic or classical pneumatic components. Having this in mind, a didactic set for controlling the work piece position in vertical tubes has been developed and will be described in this paper. This system has been realized by using servo pneumatics and classical pneumatics. In this system, feedback was used for controlling the work piece position in a servo pneumatic system. The feedback was obtained by using a photoelectric sensor. The developed system is a part of the laboratory equipment used by undergraduate and graduate students in the Industrial Engineering and Mechatronics study programme at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, as well as by individuals who already work in industry. This didactic set encourages active participation of students in class and helps them with their tasks, which include learning about the structure of the set and the way of controlling the work piece position
